Earlier this year, the setup for the Gallery display at the IMAX Theater was determined, and I was able to get 31 Spokane Night Scenes framed images installed in the lobby of the IMAX Theater in Spokane’s Riverfront Park. That exhibit will stay in the IMAX for some time to come, but at least I don’t have to manipulate or modify that exhibit all the time. Setting up 31 framed prints John D. I think I’ll remember this season as being the busiest and most fun of them all. I have been working on the National Trust for Historic Preservation project since March of 2011, and this project resulted in a number of rooftop shoots during daylight, and many of those John D. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the rooftop of the Davenport Hotel Tower building. I was unsure exactly what the view from this tall building would be, but it turned out to be fantastic. In addition to good views of downtown Spokane, Mother Nature treated us with a brilliant sunset.
This rooftop was not without issues, and it got pretty cold up on John D. The Parkade was the target of mine for a recent photo shoot, from the top of the Old National Bank building in downtown Spokane. One week prior to this recent shoot, the Parkade was featured prominently in one night shot from the top of the Chase Bank building, but the lights were not illuminated on top of the Parkade roof. Although my preference is to shoot Spokane Night Scenes, I began a project that literally took me to some heights.
My project was to support the National Trust for Historic Preservation, by coordinating highly skilled photographers to capture images of streetscapes,John D. Moore, CPPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00514671092067330013noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34642480.post-76343447382238390182011-06-16T08:06:00.000-07:002011-08-25T13:02:06.333-07:00National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP)Fairly recently, I recruited a number of very good local photographers to participate in an ongoing shoot for the NTHP. NTHP is hosting the annual convention in 2012 here in Spokane, and quite frankly, there are a lot of historic locations in this area. So, I approached them about shooting these locations (the ones they identify), and then allowing them to use the images for a slideshow, John D. The goal was to provide photography services to WWII Veterans and their families as each WWII Veteran made the Honor Flight to the war memorials in Washington DC. What I wanted to do was to insure that each day of the three day marathon was captured digitally and then made into a video which was presented to each Veteran and John D. Hanging those prints was really an all day affair, with two Parks employees measuring and installing one right after the other. So, for the time being, all work down there is done. The John D. Pick out the images/prints to be displayed in an ongoing display at the IMAX Theater in Spokane’s Riverfront Park. My preference is to use poster sized images/prints, with the largest at a size of 24 X 36. A number of them will be at 20 X 30, and the smallest prints will be enlargements at a standard range of 12 X 18 (smallest prints).A week or so ago, my wife and I John D. True, I do hear that from time to time. “Haven’t you already taken photos down there?” “Didn’t you already do that location?” Over the years, these kinds of issues are routine. Yet, in my view, each visit to any location is different than the one before it. Nothing John D. I actually started shooting night photos of RFP in 1987 during a full blown security survey of the 100 acre centerpiece of Spokane. At the time I used a 35mm SLR (Canon AE1).
